A touch of winter holiday in the main station
Outside, trains arrive and depart, people hurry through Zurich main station. Inside, there is the scent of mulled wine and the Polarzauber lights sparkle. And for a moment, everyday life feels a little like a winter holiday.
Perhaps you think of your first turn on freshly groomed slopes or your first metres on a beautiful cross-country trail. Of a sunny day in the mountains with friends. Or of that one race moment when you could barely sit still with excitement.
And while we look forward to the first snow days, anticipation is also building for a winter that holds something very special for Swiss snow sports: in February 2027, the international ski elite meets in Crans-Montana for the Alpine World Ski Championships. A home event full of emotion that we can already start looking forward to together.
It is exactly this mix of winter joy, cosy get-togethers and anticipation of great snow sports moments that we are bringing right into Zurich.
With the Home of Skiing Lounge, Swiss-Ski creates a place at Polarzauber where the passion for snow sports can be felt. A place to arrive, linger and be together. Without any snow underfoot, but with all the more anticipation of everything winter has in store.
Sharing winter moments together
From 19 November to 24 December 2026, the Home of Skiing Lounge opens its doors at Polarzauber. After work, during a Christmas stroll or simply in between: this is where you can raise a glass with friends, meet new people and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Together with Crans-Montana 2027, Stöckli, Sunrise, Helvetia, Nescafé and Valais Promotion, we are shaping this special meeting place. Each partner brings its own connection to winter and to Swiss snow sports. Together, they create a place that lets you experience the diversity of our snow sports world right in Zurich.
And perhaps your visit even holds a surprise: try your luck in the joint competition with Stöckli and Crans-Montana 2027.
