Getting there & location

Polarzauber is in the main hall of Zurich Main Station, directly at the end of the platforms. No changing trains, no walk — simply step off the train and into the Christmas market.

By train

Zurich Main Station is the central hub of the Swiss rail network. S-Bahn, long-distance and night services bring you straight into the hall.

By tram and bus

Numerous tram and bus lines stop at Bahnhofplatz/HB, Bahnhofquai/HB and Sihlquai/HB. All are only a few steps from the station hall.

By car

We recommend travelling by public transport. Parking around the main station is very busy during Advent. The nearest car parks are only a few minutes away on foot.

Accessibility

The station hall has step-free access via the main entrances and lifts from the lower level. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available in the station.

Payment

Each market house decides which payment methods it accepts. Cards, TWINT, Apple Pay and Google Pay are common; many market houses also accept cash.

If you cannot pay cashlessly, you can get a free Polarzauber Cash Card at the Nordic Bar. This prepaid card has no deposit and can be topped up there with an amount of your choice, in cash or by card.

The Cash Card is accepted at all Polarzauber drinks stands, on the terrace and in the lounge, but not in the Fondue-Zug. Any remaining balance is refunded at the Nordic Bar on the same day or by 24 December 2026 at the latest.
