Radio knows exactly this feeling too. As a Zurich radio station, Radio 24 is deeply connected with the region and its people and accompanies them through everyday life: in the car, on the tram, at the office, in the kitchen. The station tells stories, makes people laugh and creates closeness, day after day.
Christmas has a sound
Music belongs to Christmas. One familiar Christmas song is enough and you are back in the living room of your childhood, between candles, mandarins and the wait for Christmas Eve. During Advent, this Christmas music plays in many places at once, and radio is one of them: it accompanies Advent without you having to look for it.
Radio creates community, even when you are sitting alone in the car. You know that at this very moment many others are hearing the same song, the same voice, the same story. A Christmas market like Polarzauber creates this community in a different way: you stand together, in the same hall, under the same lights.
Where radio and market meet
Both live on the same things: voices, music and encounters that cannot be planned. The sparkle in people’s eyes, laughing with friends, time spent with family and the feeling of being part of something beautiful exist on the radio just as they do at the market.
That is why Radio 24 supports Polarzauber as its media partner. The station is there where Zurich comes together and shares special moments.

Right in the middle of the hall
Polarzauber, the Christmas market at Zurich main station, runs from 19 November to 24 December 2026 in the main hall, with free admission. Between the market huts, friends meet up, families stop in front of the lights and some simply look for a quiet moment before their next train.

It is often the little things that make the market: the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds, the clinking of mugs, voices mingling under the roof of the hall, and soft music somewhere.
Anyone visiting the Christmas market in Zurich will find light, warmth and room to linger. And perhaps, on the way home, the radio plays exactly the song that reminds you of this evening.
